The Succession.

Long have the Yin Yang Twins - Black Pepper Chicken and Sweet n' Sour Fish - reigned supreme in the kingdom, Shine. Their position is now threatened by the arrival of vistors from the east, more specifically, north east of China, from the island of Hainan. With a texture so crispy, and a sauce so tangy, this challenger from Hainan, along with its sidekicks, The Wedges, will this new challenger take the place at the top of the board? Only time will tell...

Here are some pictures for a special dinner we organized last night. Big ups to Lister for transforming our li'l joint into a semi pimped out eatery!

In case anyone is interested, here's what we served:

Transformation

With all the hype coming up for the new Transformers live action movie, we thought we'd give everyone a little look into how much transformation goes on in the Shine kitchen daily.

Oh lookee...looks like just some ordinary kway teow mee and fish sitting in a tray...



But BAM!

And Boom!

And there ya go, Kway Teow Mee transforms into Battle Ready - Fried Kway Teow (Penang Stylee) and Fish changes into Grilled Fish with Lemon Butter and his side kick, Butter Rice.

Marinara Mayhem

Attack of the giant mussels! Check out the 2 towering mussels of mass destruction...kinda reminds me of War of the Worlds...on Planet of the Apes.

Howdy all, we've finally got it together and put up a website. Here, you'll find mostly entries on our food, our people and the kind of food our people like.

Everyone's been requesting to see photos of our food so we thought; rather than clog up your mailboxes with 2mb jpeg attachments, we'd send you here to view them instead!

Well, today we had our Shine Burger Special and Omelette Rice with Kailan, photos for those who missed out during lunch today!

Tomorrow on the menu will be Thai Style Crispy Chicken ($5) and Mee Siam ($5), so look out for pics around 11 ish in the morning to get those appetites going.
